Chronicles of the Great Exile of Shri Ram – Brought to you by Travelocracy Exclusive
An epic road trip covering all the places where Lord Shree Ram along with his wife Goddess Sita and Brother Lakshmana are said to have visited while on their 14 yearlong exile from his kingdom Ayodhya.
EPISODE 1:- THE BEGINNING – “AARAMBH”
Let me start this journey with a bit of a backstory – I went on a road trip in 2017, and while on this trip I happen to be going to “Tirathgarh Waterfall” in Jharkhand, India. Near to this Waterfall there is small Ram Temple. Just beside this temple there is a board with a Map of India which showed the whole Journey of Lord Shri Ram Starting from Ayodhya to Lanka and there were detailed mentions of all places he went to in India and stayed while on his Exile. I took a photo of this Map and it was from then on that I wanted to go on this Journey from the past 6-7 Years. My childhood fascination with the tv series “Ramayan” by Ramanand Sagar could also be a contributing factor.
It took me and my wife Shubhi 2 years to do all the research for this trip. We met with a lot of influential people who had done their own research on Ramayana including Shri K K Muhammad who is the Retired Regional Director (North) of ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). We will be showing his interview with us in the coming episodes.
Now finally after all the Hard Work we were able to start this trip in Oct 2023. We started from Noida by road to Ayodhya. It only took us around 9 Hrs. to reach there, initially we thought it’s going to take 12 Hrs. at least with stops in between. That’s the kind of excitement we were feeling…
During the whole journey via road somehow, we only listened to Devotional songs and nothing else. It wasn’t intentional but the excitement and the whole anticipation of what we are going to find in this Journey was so strong. It was the time of Dusshera when we did this trip and there were Ram Leela Stage shows everywhere and since it was also the time of Durga Pooja there were multiple beautiful Pandals as well. So, it was a really great experience so far.
WHY WE NAMED THE SERIES AS “THE CHRONICLES OF THE GREAT EXILE – RAMAYAN”?
In this whole series we will reveal each and every place where Lord Ram along with Goddess Sita and Brother Lakshman stayed and visited during their exile starting from Lord Rams Birthplace Ayodhya and the trip finally ending in Present day Sri Lanka which also know as “Ram Van Gaman Path”
JAYENGE HUM WAHA WAHA, PADE THEY RAGHUVAR KE CHARAN JAHA JAHA
We will follow the present oldest version of Ramayana available to us “The Valmiki Ramayana” which is based on the “Mool Ramayan” said to have been taught to Sage Valmiki by the Greatest Sage “Narad Muni”.
